Overview

The IT Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the operation of the computer hardware, software and systems of the hotel, ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed, and rectifying any problems which arise.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring all technology systems are installed and working properly.
  • Analyzes the ongoing needs of the hotel and establishes priorities for system design and implementation to develop new and/or modify the hotel's technology infrastructure.
  • Recommends and develops solution-oriented plans for the hotel's systems design, development, operations, hardware and software purchases, budget, and technical staffing.
  • Ensures data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Manages the development, implementation, installation, and operation of information systems for the hotel. This includes Servers and all terminal connections, low-voltage lighting programming and functionality, external and internal bandwidth/carrier services, all public space music systems programming and functionality.
  • Provides support to end users in the selection, procurement, usage, and maintenance of resort software and hardware.
  • Communicates effectively with internal teams, guests, and other departments as required
  • Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine costs and impact, and address problems.
  • Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans. 
  • Knowledge of PC Setup and Troubleshooting, Computer Systems and Networking Technology, LAN and WAN Infrastructure, and Information Systems Mapping
  • Knowledge of Hotel Systems Interface, Broadband and Wi-Fi Technologies
  • Basic Knowledge of Payment Card Technology and of Sound Systems
  • Troubleshooting peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with co-workers and managers across departments, be open and responsive to coaching, lead and develop people
  • Manage schedules and timelines effectively and able to multitask.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer related field preferred.
  • Five or more (5+) years of experience in Information Technology or telecom field, Hospitality Industry, Operations, or related IT support roles.
  • Cisco or Microsoft Certification, (Applicable Microsoft certifications: MCSA, MCTS or MCITP for Windows Server, MCDST for workstations).
  • Experience administering networks in a Windows Server/Workstation environment, preferably in an environment with more than 50 nodes and 2 or more domains.
  • Deep knowledge of network infrastructure, including CAT5/6 cabling, wireless networks, network switches, WAN/LAN, domain controller, Active Directory, firewall, and VPN applications (applicable Microsoft network admin certifications - MCSE).
  • Experience with PMS, POS, Keycard, PBX, and Voicemail.
  • Open weekday availability and ability to work weekends when necessary
  • Proficient in task/project management, including project management tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
