Overview

The Starbucks Manager is responsible for coordinating, supervising and directing all aspects of Starbucks outlets. He/she is expected to market ideas to promote business; reduce employee turnover; maintain revenue and payroll budgets; and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high.

  • Manager must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
  • Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct
  • reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results. Supports the implementation of company programs to ensure the success of the Company.
  • Analyzes individual store performance to determine opportunities for growth of business within existing licensed locations, and to provide direction on operating efficiency and improvement to ensure consistent legendary service to customers.
  • Develops annual operating plan and budget, and monthly forecast updates.
  • Plans and manages business unit/department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.
  • Prepares, communicates and educates leadership team on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
  • Collaborates with related functions such as design, development, contracts, operations, finance and logistics to ensure that team efforts are aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Leverages Starbucks support services such as marketing promotions, optimum product offerings, customer service support, and new technology tools and processes to increase productivity.
  • Challenges and inspires partners to achieve business results.
  • Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.
  • Ensures stores adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
  • Conduct trainings to ensure consistent execution of company brand standards and operating guidelines.
  • Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve partner, business and customer results.
  • Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure preparation of required reports, including (but not limited to) Wage Progress, payroll, revenue, employee Schedules, quarterly actions plans.
  • Be visible on the floor and assist staff as needed during each meal period.
  • Complete tip reporting.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotels.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing nametags.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience/Physical Requirment:

    • At least 2 years of progressive experience within Starbucks or a comparable experience; or 4-year college degree and 1 year of related experience.
    • Must have knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, and health department rules and regulations.
    • Long hours sometimes required.
    • Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
